Spiritual Strength From God: Alayna Lambka

Isaiah 40:31 - “But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.”
Psalms 28:7 - “The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust Him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.”
Strength is something that hits my heart hugely in my life. It’s something that we all need everyday, especially with the world we live in nowadays. When we think of strength, we usually think of our mind, body, and even heart strength. Something that hits home more than anything is spiritual strength through Jesus Christ.
One of the scariest prayers I’ve prayed is for strength. I thought it was going to be an easy road, but I was truly mistaken. I used to be sensitive, and quiet. Not a very confident person by any means. In 2021, I joined my local schools softball team and learned very quickly that being shy and having no confidence within yourself wasn’t going to make for a winner.
I came to the conclusion that I needed to figure out a way to change my ways for the better, so I sat down in my room and prayed. I prayed for strength specifically and to let my light shine more than it has ever before, and boy was I in for a treat from the Lord. I continue to this day to gain from that same prayer I prayed so long ago.
Spiritual strength is one of the most eye opening experiences with God I have ever witnessed. From being hurt by others, to losing many things and people in my life, to even my anxiety and depression I suffer from, it’s a road that requires you to have strength that only God can provide. One of my favorite verses that I love reminding others about is Philippians 4:13: “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.” If we didn’t have God, we would be absolutely nothing. He is our only way through this tough world that we live in, and He provides us with the strength that we need in different times of our lives.
In conclusion to all of this, God gives us strength in a way that will change us for the better for not only ourselves, but for others. Yeah, I lost some things on the way to get to where I am today, but I am happier today than I have ever been in my entire life. I have a beautiful family back home who surrounds me with Godly love. I now have a group of beautiful friends who surround me with love and care. And lastly, I go to my dream college and am studying what the Lord gave me the gift of: singing. So I say all of those years of troubles and triumph to gain strength made me the best version of myself ever. And there's more to come!

She enjoys singing, softball, agriculture, and volunteering at her fire department back home in Plain Dealing, LA.
